Explore the Unexpected – Petit Verdot Wine Launch

An intimate winter dinner. A bold new release. A guided tasting with a Master Sommelier.
Join us for a four-course evening at Brick Bay to mark the exclusive release of our Petit Verdot 2022—a rich, deeply structured red that’s seldom seen as a standalone varietal in Aotearoa. This is your first chance to taste it, guided by Cameron Douglas MS, New Zealand’s first Master Sommelier and one of the most respected voices in wine.
Cameron will lead a tasting journey through three wines shaped by Petit Verdot:
- Martello Rock 2021 – vibrant and earthy, with summer berries and silky tannins
- Pharos 2020 – a flagship blend, 71% Petit Verdot, layered and powerful
- Petit Verdot 2022 – our newest release, scored 95 points and described as “ink staining richness” with a “backbone of acidity and poise”
Each wine will be paired with a thoughtful dish from our Brick Bay kitchen—designed to echo the boldness, spice and complexity of this rare variety.
Date: Friday, 25 July 2025
Time: From 6 PM
Tickets: $95 per person — includes a four-course set menu.
Add a full wine pairing for $50 per person, featuring three expressions of our Petit Verdot, paired to each course and introduced with insights from winemaker Cameron.

Please note: This is a prepaid dinner reservation. No physical or digital tickets will be sent. Your name will be added to our guest list, and we'll check you in on arrival.
