Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Vibrant aromas of ripe gooseberry, freshly crushed blackcurrant leaf and lemongrass flow onto a palate that balances herbaceous drive with hints of stone-fruit, lime and a whisper of coastal salinity. Crisp acidity keeps the finish long and refreshing—an archetype of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
Accolades

Cameron Douglas MS: 93 pts
"Bright, fresh, very fruity and precise with classic SB qualities of pungency and power—lemon and pink grapefruits, gooseberry and fresh sage, then a lick of tropical fruits. Crisp and dry, saline and fresh, flavours reflect the bouquet with a pineapple twist added. Well made with length and impact. Best from 2025 through 2027."
In the Vineyard
Marlborough is known world-wide as the epicentre of Sauvignon Blanc production. We were fortunate to access these grapes from the Southern Valleys from a single vineyard. Balancing a canopy management system to expose the fruit to sunlight alongside judicious leaf plucking to provide an element of shading, resulted in the development of the classic Sauvignon Blanc characteristics. 2024 delivered low cropping levels but exceptional fruit.
In the Winery
Winemaker James Rowan vinified free-run and press fractions separately before blending. Co-inoculation with complementary yeasts built aromatic complexity, while a small portion was fermented in seasoned French oak barriques to add texture, then reunited with the cool-fermented stainless-steel component.
Cellaring Potential
Designed for enjoyment over the year or two following harvest, Sauvignon Blanc 2024 will remain bright and expressive through to 2026. Serve well-chilled as a vibrant aperitif or with summer fare.
