Richard Mathieson - Little Strath, 2020

Born in Featherston, Richard Mathieson studied at Elam Art School under Greer Twiss and Christine Hellyar at Elam School of Fine Arts in the early 1980s. He has lived in Auckland ever since. He has been extensively involved in sculpture galleries and projects including Star Art, Medal Art, Sculpture in the Gardens, and Summer of Sculpture. 

Little Strath is a meditation on the Gaelic term meaning 'broad-valley' and fits into a series of bronze landscape studies that Mathieson has created.
