Families & Children

Restaurant

We welcome children to Brick Bay however they must be supervised at all times. Outside The Glass House restaurant, a sandpit, swings and climbing frame provide fun activities.

We have a children's menu and colouring-in activities as well as high chairs and baby-changing facilities.

As we rely on the income from our restaurant is not possible to bring your own picnic to Brick Bay, however we have a fabulous menu that caters for children.

Sculpture Trail

Although children need special supervision in an environment with lakes and artworks, the trail is a delightful introduction to sculpture for the first time. It is possible to take off road pushchairs on the trail however there are a number of steps on the Sculpture Trail so backpacks are a much easier alternative.

Children must be supervised by one adult per two children.

We ask for your cooperation in protecting our works of art, as well as the safety of our visitors by not touching or climbing on any sculptures.

ACCESSIBILITY

  • We recommend wearing walking shoes.

  • Whilst the Sculpture Trail is an easy 2km walk suitable for most ages and abilities, a reasonable level of fitness is required.

  • The trail is manageable with off-road pushchairs, although backpacks are recommended

  • Unfortunately, the Trail is not suitable for wheelchairs.

  • Surfaces are grass, bark mulch, pebbles and wooden boardwalks and follow an undulating terrain that winds through a valley. There are several sets of easily negotiated stairs and viewing benches are located at regular intervals along the trail. Approximately half of the trail is sheltered from the sun by the bush canopy.

  • During the wet winter season you may wish to wear waterproof footwear, which you don't mind getting a little dirty

Dogs

We welcome well behaved dogs to Brick Bay both on the Sculpture Trail and in outdoor dining spaces of the restaurant. If you intend to dine, please note on your booking that you require an outdoor table.

Dogs are permitted on the Sculpture Trail, provided they are on a lead as we have livestock and abundant birdlife.

You are responsible for the behaviour of your dog and they must not cause a disturbance to other guests. You must also pick up after your dog.

SCHOOL VISITS

School groups get a lot of value out of a trip to visit the Sculpture Trail and we are happy to facilitate bag storage, a place to gather for the children to eat their school lunch and anything else you need to make your school’s visit a great day out.
