Pruning... Pruning...Pruning...

While your table grape sprawling over the trellis is often left to its own devices, the pruning of vines for wine production is an altogether more considered affair. Judicious cuts and the selection of canes to tie down will control the new growth when the dormant vine springs into action in September.

Mountains of cut canes are also being gathered for removal from the vineyard for burning, as disease can overwinter in the dried cuttings.
