Immortality

The charming sculptures of Paul Dibble are the latest arrival to Brick Bay. To the Other Side has made a grand statement on the lakeside during the summer season and we’re thrilled to have two small scale bronzes from the same Immortality series join the exhibition. This series of sculptures contemplates mortal man in pursuit of a spiritual place. In To the Other Side a male figure strides confidently forward, referencing the story of Maui entering the Goddess of Death to gain eternal life. Into Another Realm is playful, a figure cartwheeling through the circle of death to a life beyond. Looking to the Other Side offers a more tentative approach, as a figure cautiously leans forward, its head peering through the void. This is a wonderful opportunity to view the artist’s various interpretations alongside one another, each piece delightfully Dibble.
