What an amazing vintage so far...with the upper north in prolonged drought and farmers and those on tank supply praying for rain, grapegrowers are revelling in the conditions. It's a nerve-wracking time, with one eye on the weather and the other on fruit condition and flavour development, with only one chance to get it right and justify the hundreds of hours of intensive labour that has gone into nurturing the crop during the course of the year. Each bunch is handpicked, examined for any substandard berries which are removed before the bunch is deemed worthy of inclusion in Brick Bay wine.
