Framed by Autumn

Not only is the vineyard a riot of colour, but the many claret ash, swamp cypress, liquid amber and various oaks on the trail add a colourful backdrop to the experience of contemporary sculpture at Brick Bay.
Brightly coloured foliage enhances Peter Nicholls’ Shards #9, newly installed on the trail. Beauty transcends death in this sculpture, a reflection on St Peter's Cathedral in Munich which was virtually destroyed during World War II and later restored to perfection.
"Architecture, our third skin, had been reduced to black shards, but the jagged and torn exterior admits light and cast shadows, a complex and enriching image."
